Philip Swanson Killed in a Crash on October 2, 2017 in Ringgold County, Iowa

Philip Swanson of Creston, Iowa was killed in a crash on Monday, October 2nd 2017 at 7:35 am in Ringgold County, Iowa. Swanson was 58 years old.

The police described the crash like this:

VEHICLE ONE (THE 2016 VOLV ST DRIVEN BY GARY CLAUSEN) WAS EASTBOUND ON HWY 2 VEHICLE TWO (THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA DRIVEN BY PHILIP SWANSON) WAS NORTHBOUND ON HWY 25 THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE ONE WAS LOOKING AT HIS GPS AND DROVE THROUGH A STOP SIGN VEHICLE TWO STRUCK THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRAILER OF VEHICLE ONE DIRVER OF VEHICLE TWO DIED AT THE SCENE THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE ONE WAS UNINJURED CHARGES ARE PENDING AND THE INCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE RINGGOLD COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPT AND THE IOWA STATE PATROL

The police said the crash happened here: HWY 2 AND HWY 25 SOUTH INTERSECTION.

Injuries

The crash killed Swanson. Swanson was taken to the  State Medical Examiner by Armstrong Funeral.

Vehicle Damage

Gary Clausen, age 51, from Huxley, Iowa was driving a 2016 Volvo St. It was towed by Benefiels. Philip Swanson, age 58, from Creston, Iowa was driving a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. It was towed by Snyders.
