Afton Staton Killed in a Crash on June 25, 2018 in Union County, Iowa

Afton Nicole Staton of West Des Moines, Iowa was killed in a crash on Monday, June 25th 2018 at 2:09 pm in Union County, Iowa. Staton was 17 years old.

VEHICLE ONE (THE 2006 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX DRIVEN BY AFTON STATON) WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN FROM POPLAR STREET ONTO HWY 34 WHEN THE DRIVER FAILED TO YIELD TO VEHICLE TWO (THE 2006 DODG RAM 2500 DRIVEN BY KYLEE SHORT-EDWARDS) THAT WAS WB ON HWY 34 IN THE CITY OF CRESTON THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE ONE WAS KILLED AS A RESULT OF HER INJURIES A PASSENGER IN VEHICLE ONE RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSP IN CRESTON THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE TWO WAS NOT INJURED CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY IOWA STATE PATROL, POST 2

Injuries

The crash killed Staton. Staton was taken to Creston Hospital by Creston Ambulance.
